Vale of Evesham Panorama

Mist rolling across the Vale of Evesham

It was a dull and rainy day out walking today – this panorama of the Vale of Evesham shows when the conditions were at their best. The rain came in force about an hour or so later.

I thought I’d try a panorama today – as you can see conditions were poor for photography.

The hill on the right is Bredon Hill. The name actually contains the word ‘hill’ three times. Bree is Celtic for hill, don is Old English for hill, and hill is, well, hill! It’s not unusual around these parts. The ‘Avon’ portion of the river Avon (that of Stratford upon Avon fame) originates from the Welsh word for river – afon.
