With the threat of rain, a shaft of sunlight highlights the Ullswater ferry as it heads towards the dock at Glenridding.
This photo was taken from the vantage point above Yew Crag, on Gowbarrow Fell. From the car park at Aira Force, cross the Aira Beck and take the path that heads diagonally up and across the southern flank of Gowbarrow Fell, above Lyulph’s Tower. The path is easy, and in just over a mile you come to this fine viewpoint above Ullswater, above Yew Crag. A fine stop for lunch and photography.
I preferred the mono image as the contrast was a more accurate depiction of the weather – you could see the bands of rain following each other down the lake.
