On an overcast day, the medieval bridge at Bidford-on-Avon still makes a good mono subject.
Bidford Bridge dates from the early 15th century, and is only wide enough for one way traffic. Rebates in the parapet on the eastern side allow pedestrians shelter from the traffic as they cross. The river Avon was quite high when this photo was taken, but nowhere near the levels seen in the past few weeks (when the photographer would have been at least up to his waist in water!). The last time I crossed the bridge – the water level was so high you could not see the arches.
