Worcestershire Prairie

Worcestershire Prarie HDR

Looking like a photo of some wide open prairie, it’s actually Worcestershire on a glorious day, with the path stretching clearly out before you – the best sight for any walker.

The footpath in question is The Monarch’s Way, a 615 mile path that roughly follows the route Charles II took  to escape the Roundheads after the battle of Worcester in 1615. Charles II was the one who hid in an oak tree to avoid capture, giving rise to many pubs called The Royal Oak.
