The Purton Hulks – Part II
Some of the hulks have suffered from the weather and various depredations from less than sensitive human visitors. This is Severn Collier, built in 1937 and beached in 1965, now mostly buried in the silt. You can just make out the second word of her name on the stern.
Whilst there I bumped into a fellow photographer, and as we talked we did what photographers the world over do when they get together – grumbled about the light 🙂
It was interesting how we both interpreted the same landscape in different ways – he was looking at producing all his images in black and white, whereas I preferred to do HDR in order to bring out the colours and tones.
