Burnham Low Lighthouse
Built in 1832, Burnham Low Lighthouse is a very distinctive sight on the beach at Burnham on Sea in Somerset. Still in use today, the locals will tell you it’s one of the most photographed lighthouses in the world – and I added a few more myself.
On a dull, misty day, not ideal for photography, I remembered reading that, on days like this, you think in terms of pastel shades and low contrast images. I’ve tried to do that here. A 10 stop ND filter allowed me to take a 20 second exposure to flatten out the sea, but I’ve kept it simple – all you can do in such conditions.
