Brass and Copper Pots
Petworth House, built in the late 17th century, is well worth a visit for the fine arts enthusiast, boasting exquisite paintings by Constable and Turner, amongst others, and many fine carvings and other works of art. In amongst all this finery, I found the warm colours of the brass and copper pots, in the old kitchens, fascinating.
A challenge to photograph – even after bumping up the ISO on my camera, I still did not have enough light for a steady hand-held image. Flash photography was forbidden, so I rested the camera on a suitable surface and held the camera steady while pressing the shutter. Necessity is the mother of invention.
