Rebuilding The Wall
The dry limestone walls, so characteristic of the Cotswold hills, have all too often been replaced by ugly fences or downright unfriendly barbed wire. It’s a wonderful sight, therefore, to see the walls being rebuilt and repaired. There are a couple of examples around Broadway Farm where this is taking place, and it gives you a chance to see the skill and craft that goes into the making of these walls. The contrast between the newly quarried limestone and the weather portion of the wall is all too apparent, but they’ll soon weather and merge in colour.
