The morning sunshine gives light and shadows on the roof and side of Feckenham Church. When you look at it closely, it is composed of three building phases. The earliest looks to be the middle section, with the part of the building nearest the camera being the youngest. The earliest building phase you can see here dates back to the 13th century, but Feckenham gets a mention in the Domesday Book – so I would expect the current building has replaced a much earlier one. In fact the earliest reference to Feckenham can be traced back to 804 AD – it’s a place with a great deal of history.
