The great thing about early morning shoots, is that you pretty much have the place to yourself (the local wildlife notwithstanding). It’s a great time to relax – just chill and take photographs, and learn new skills in your own time.
This image was taken to practice the method of keeping your verticals parallel (and upright) with a wide angle lens. It’s very simple – keep your lens horizontal. Frame your image by moving the tripod up or down to get the correct composition. One absolutely indispensable, and inexpensive, piece of kit (to me) is a hot shoe spirit level. It allows me to always be sure my camera os level, and my horizons are level. If you do a lot of landscape photography – consider investing in one.
