Purton Revisited I
I took a trip back to Purton in Gloucestershire at the weekend as the weather forecast looked promising. That promise held, and I was lucky enough to have some good light in the evening. I didn’t see anyone else the whole time I was there, and I was able to wander in and around the bones of ships and barges long gone, but not entirely forgotten, as the Friends of Purton have put named markers next to each of the hulks. Some have been so overgrown and covered with silt and mud that all you see are the markers. Some. like this one, are just recogniseable, although there won’t be much left in a few years, which will be such a shame.
