I know this area well – I used to live two minutes away, and I used to walk the area frequently. What I didn’t know was that you could photograph the mill from across the mill pond. As far as I knew, the trees on the far bank were impenetrable and you could not get anywhere near it. But then a couple of weeks ago I came across a photograph of the mill from this angle, and I was curious – could I get a similar shot? After a brief wander along the edge of the trees, I found an almost imperceptible gap where the original photographer could get through the trees – above is the result.
Note to self – never assume you cannot do something. always check it out for yourself.
