Sharpness Docks are near Purton, and I thought the docks might provide some interesting subjects just before sunrise. It’s still a working dock, however, so access was limited. I settled for a few sunrise images from one of the old railway bridges – the other bridge is in the image above.
I decided on HDR as the exposure was very complicated for this scene. There was a huge amount of contrast between the working part of the docks (which were in shadow) and the brightly lit sky and water. HDR gave me the best chance of capturing what I was looking for.
Photography stuff: 12-24mm lens at 20mm, f/9.0, tripod, 5 exposure HDR set at 1/1000, 1/500, 1/250, 1/125, and 1/60 sec, edited in Nik HDR Efx Pro 2.
