This exquisite statue sits in an alcove at Chatsworth House. Chatsworth is well worth a visit – of all the stately homes we have visited, it is the most photographer friendly, so it was a joy to wander round.

The statue, in it’s alcove, represented a challenge. I deliberately metered for the statue itself and added a little fill in flash, to try to separate if from the background. A little bit of editing on Lightroom helped.

Embarrassingly, I neglected to note who sculpted this fine piece.

Photography Stuff: 12-24mm lens at 24mm, 1/125 sec at f/4.0, fill in flash, white balance adjusted in Lightroom to give a cool blue tone.
