It was much colder a week ago, and the covering of ice on the lake was testament to that.
I know that, normally, you are not supposed to put the horizon near the middle of the frame, but I wanted to capture the blue of the ice merging into the warm colours of the rising sun, and then becoming blue again near the top – a sort of symmetry, if you like. I hope it works.
Photography stuff: All sorts going on here! 12-24mm lens at 14mm, 5 images of 1/160, 1/60, 1/30, 1/15, and 1/8 sec all at f/9.0, tripod, 3 stop soft ND filter, 2 stop hard ND filter, all 5 images merged in Nik EFX HDR Pro 2. And that’s all there is to it 🙂
