Hatterall Hill, in the Black Mountains, seems to be popular with the paragliding community, with the updrafts giving good flying. There were quite a few when I walked past late in the afternoon.
I have to say, as I knew I was in for a long walk in the mountains, I left my usual camera gear behind, because of the weight, and headed out with my trusty old D40, which is as light as a feather when compared against my usual complement of camera gear. It has never let me down – still a joy to use.
