I had spotted these rolls of hay as I was driving to work last week. Not many farmers leave their hay like this these days, as most tend to go for the black plastic wrap. I understand why, but it’s not very photogenic – leaving the fields littered with what looks like big fat plastic bin bags.
So when I saw these through a gap in a hedge as I was driving to work, I know I had to come back when the light was good. I wasn’t sure how long the farmer would leave them there.
Photography stuff: 18-70mm lens at 18mm, 1/25 sec at f/10, ISO set to 200 (so I could take the photo handheld), 2 stop graduated ND filter to hold back the sky.
