Pre Dawn Mist

I still cannot resist getting up before dawn and heading out to take photographs. Early morning is the best time of day – the light is (when you catch it) great, and you are, more than likely, the only person around, so you can gather your thoughts and work on your craft.

So I found myself up by Broadway tower about 45 minutes before dawn, with the red glow of the rising sun blending up into a deep blue, with hints of a mist hanging around in the hollows.

Less than 30 minutes later, and the mist had rolled in – from the spot where I took this image, all you could see was grey cloud with ghostly shapes – a world in monochrome. Turns out getting up before dawn was a good idea after all 🙂

Photography stuff: 12-24mm lens at 18mm, 30 seconds at f/11, tripod, remote release.
