I’ve been down to photograph the Purton Hulks a few times, but after being inspired by a video from a chap called Mike Browne about long lens landscape photography, I thought I’d take a trip out and do some experimenting – and I came away with some interesting results.
This is some metal pipework still in place on Harriett, with the river Severn in the background.
On the way back to the car, I bumped into an old boy walking his dog and we got talking. It turns out he worked on one of the hulks in the 1940’s. Really cool.
Photography stuff: 70-200mm lens at 200mm, 1/640 sec at f/2.8, handheld.
