Sgwd Yr Eira

Just practicing my Photoshop skills – I had read about the Orton effect, which is a technique you can use to give a soft glow to your images.

There are a few Youtube videos that tell you how to achieve the effect, so I had a go. I decided to go subtle – didn’t want to over do it. This view from behind the waterfall at Sgwd Yr Eira seemed an ideal image to practice on. I was also able to edit out two people wearing brightly coloured waterproofs. Nothing against them – I just think that modern waterproofs, as colourful as they are, did not fit in with my image 🙂

Photography stuff: 12-24mm lens at 12mm, 1.6 seconds at f/22, tripod, camera rain cover essential!
