Plughole

Known locally as the 'plugholes' this is one of two giant overflow outlets for the Ladybower Reservoir in the Peak District. With all the recent rains, it's no surprise the reservoir is this full. Just before the sun peeks over the surrounding hills, meaning I can get a long exposure without the use of filters. The surrounding wall is quite high, making the use of a normal tripod quite challenging as the spread of the legs moves the camera back from the wall. I solved this puzzle by using a little table top tripod sitting atop the wall (with a careful grip on my camera, obviously). These outlets are quite big so your widest lens is recommended here. Photography stuff: 12-24mm lens at 12mm, 2.5 seconds at f/10, tripod.
