River Avon in Flood

© Gerard Tohill 2016

I had set up at Broadway Tower before dawn, but the light wasn’t there. I tried a few images but nothing was working in the poor light. The wind and the cold didn’t help, but then the rain came – time to move on!

I figured that the rain might blow over during the 20 minute drive to Bidford-on-Avon, and so it turned out. I had some lovely morning light and came away with a few nice images.

After the weeks of rain, the Avon is in serious flood. That fence should not be disappearing under water, and you can just see the tops of two posts that should be on dry land!

Photography stuff: 18-70mm lens at 22mm, 1/60 sec at f/9.0, two stop hard graduated ND filter to hold the sky back, tripod, edited and cropped in Lightroom.
