Going Up In The World

The southern face of Brean Down is accessible when the tide is out, and is popular with climbers. There were a few there on the day I walked past.

There’s a good overhang, and it looks quite scary, however the face of the rock is littered with bolts that allow the climbers to clip in for protection. When I enlarged the original image I counted almost 30 bolts attached to the rock giving plenty of choice for protection.

Photography stuff: Nothing special – 70-200mm lens at 200mm, 1/1600 sec at f/2.8, handheld
