Monsal Weir

Monsal Weir is a short walk below Monsal Head viaduct. It’s a great place to take photographs, but I picked the wrong day. The bright sunshine meant equally bright highlights on the water, giving a huge contrast between bright and shadow areas – my camera simply couldn’t cope. I did the best I could for this image.

Note to self – go back on a dull day 🙂

Photography stuff: 12-70mm lens at 12mm, 30 seconds at f/7.1, tripod, 10 stop ND filter.
